The world's most famous sheep — and the reason our company exists.

At the Roslin Institute in Edinburgh, Scotland, something happened that scientists believed was impossible. A lamb was born from a single adult mammary gland cell — the first mammal ever cloned from an adult cell. Before Dolly, the scientific consensus was that specialized adult cells could only perform their assigned function. Dolly proved them all wrong.
Her birth was kept secret until the Roslin Institute published its research paper. When her existence was announced on February 22, 1997, the world's press descended on Edinburgh. Dolly became an overnight global sensation — sparking both excitement and ethical debate that continues to this day.
Dolly was named after the legendary country music icon Dolly Parton. The connection? Dolly the sheep was cloned from a mammary gland cell — and as lead researcher Ian Wilmut later explained, they couldn't think of a more impressive pair of mammary glands than Dolly Parton's. The name stuck, and Dolly Parton herself reportedly said she was "honored" by the tribute.
Dolly's official cell line designation was 6LL3 — the lab code assigned to the cell line at the Roslin Institute. That code is now our company name. We're honoring the original act of cloning by building the infrastructure for a new kind of cloning — AI-generated content using real creators' likenesses.

Named After Dolly Parton
Because she was cloned from a mammary gland cell. The researchers couldn't resist the connection.
Cell Line: 6LL3
Her official lab designation at the Roslin Institute. Now our company name — pronounced "Belle."
Born July 5, 1996
Created from a Finn Dorset sheep cell placed into a Scottish Blackface sheep egg. Three different sheep, one clone.
277 Attempts
Dolly was the only lamb born from 277 cell fusion attempts. She was attempt #277 — the one that worked.
Mother of Six
Dolly had six lambs with a Welsh Mountain sheep named David: Bonny, Sally, Rosie, Lucy, Darcy, and Cotton.
Museum Celebrity
After passing in 2003, Dolly was preserved and donated to the National Museum of Scotland, where she remains on display today.

Dolly proved that a single cell could contain the blueprint for an entire living being. At 6LL3 Clone Lab, we believe a single creator can contain the blueprint for infinite content. Just as Dolly's clone was genetically identical but lived its own life, an AI clone of a creator carries their likeness but generates entirely new content — controlled, licensed, and monetized by the creator themselves.
We're not just naming our company after Dolly. We're continuing her legacy — proving that what seems impossible today becomes the foundation of tomorrow.
